The Department of Production Engineering and Minerals was established with the establishment of the University of Technology in 1975.The department aims at excellence and leadership in the field of engineering sciences that specialize in production engineering, metallurgy engineering, industrial engineering, design engineering, computer-based metal fabrication, mining engineering and mineral extraction at the level of primary and postgraduate studies. The department awards a master's and doctorate degrees in the field of mineral engineering, production engineering and mineral extraction, in addition to studying a diploma in welding.
